Our community members were greeted today.  At the start of what will be a very hot day. We started today at 9am and by 1130am when we served all community members in line the temperature was all-ready 100 degrees. Abbey of the Wayward Spirit is a small organization, but at these community outreach events we are excited to be able to join other non-profits to help make an impact in our community.  

Here you can see our community members starting their morning with a meal and snack food item. 

This non-profit organization provided food, snack food items, as well as hygiene products for those community members that come to this outreach event.

As you can see this monthly community outreach of support goes almost the full block next to Library Park in downtown Phoenix. This location is chosen because of the very large gathering of our unhoused community.

Dogs Day Out AZ is the organization that Abbey of the Wayward Spirt has teamed up with. This organization helps take care of the 4 legged companions of our unhoused community members. They have boots on the ground volunteers that go out every day before and after their regular 9-5 jobs to provide food and supplies to help our unhoused community members take care of their best friend's needs. They also help with emergency medical needs as well. These volunteers take the hygiene kits that Abbey of the Wayward Spirit puts together and provides them to the community members that are unable to attend this event. So today when this event wrapped up, the 100 hygiene kits we put together on 3/1/2026 went out from here all across the valley from the east to the west side. By teaming with DDO AZ, they are able to get our kits out farther to those in need. And we help DDO AZ, buy helping supply the hygiene supplies for the owners and they can spend more or their resources on their companions. There are the 100 hygiene kits Abbey of the Wayward Spirt was able to put together this month BECAUSE OF YOU, our supporters. Without your generous support this would not be possible. It may not seem like a lot but being able to give someone the dignity of being able to just get cleaned up means so much. We are so happy to be able to play a small part of something bigger to help make a positive impact. These kits went out today after this event to help community members across the whole valley.  With your support Abbey of the Wayward Spirit hopes to grow and be able to put together more hygiene kits every month to help our fellow community members in need.

Several members of Dogs Days Out AZ also do clothing collection as well. These are then sorted so our community members can help themself to whatever items they may need.
